Seva Should Be First Priority

Dosabhai was satsangi of village Bandhiya. He was a big business man. He used to trade jaggery. Starting from early morning farmers used to bring Jaggery to Dosabhai to sell it. Dosabhai used to taste them and buy them as per their quality.

During the sugar cane season Dosabhai used to work almost whole day and remain busy with his business whole day. In the mean time some people of Bandhiya had visited Bhagwan Swaminarayan at Gadhada. Maharaj asked them the about Dosabhai, they replied to Maharaj that Dosabhai is very busy and he does not even get time to take a shower and do pooja, and added that Dosabhai is attached to his business and forgot God. Maharaj told to the people that it was not true. So people replied that that was what they knew. So they told Maharaj to prove it. And hence Maharaj send a letter addressing Dosabhai that, as soon as you get this letter leave all your work and family behind and just come down and become saint.

Bhaguji took the letter to deliver to Dosabhai. As soon as Dosabhai saw Bhaguji he went down running towards him and started asking him about Maharaj's health and inquired did Maharaj send any news for him. Bhaguji gave Dosabhai the letter that Maharaj gave it to him. Dosabhai read the letter and left his business behind and went along with Bhaguji to Gadhada. Maharaj saw Dosabhai and went down and hugged Dosabhai. Again moral of the story is we need to work and do our job to survive but along with that we need to also keep time and priority for satsang and Seva.

Moral: We should not judge a devotee just by his day to day affairs.
