Karsan Luhar of Pithvajal village, was very particular in following the Shikshapatri. In India Holi is a celebrated festival and during Holi some people indulge in malpractice. Once during Holi, the head of the village and other kusangis were celebrating and in that they were swearing at each other and saying profane/bad words though in a lighter mood.

One of the Kusangi man told the head of the village 'Bapu on such a day there is one person who will not take part in the celebration and will not swear even if you tell him to do'. The village head asked why he would not do so. The Kusangis said 'he has now become a Swaminarayan’s disciple, so he will not indulge in such practices'. The village head summoned Karsan Bhagat. When Karsan Bhagat arrived he said, 'Karsan today is Holi, so swear a little bit'. Karsan Bhagat replied, 'Bapu, I am a Swaminarayan’s disciple so how can I give you something which I don't have'. The Bapu was getting frustrated and tried to persuade Karsan Bhagat by saying, 'never mind Karsan if you cannot say some big fat words, say small bad words'.

Karsan Bhagat denied saying that, 'bad is bad no matter how small it is, so I cannot and will not say'. Then Bapu told Karsan Bhagat, 'say some bad words or you should leave the village'. Karsan Bhagat did not budge and had to leave the village only with his belongings. He left his home behind and he and his family started living outside the village limits.

He built a home and temple outside the village. In between his home and the temple there was a bavad tree on which lived a witch. The witch troubled Karsan Bhagat's kids whenever they went to the temple. Karsan Bhagat told Gunatitanand Swami about this menace, Swami came to his home and did the 'Swaminarayan' dhun and ordered the witch to leave the tree and so did the witch.

Moral: If we strictly follow the Shikshapatri and have faith in Shreeji Maharaj and do satsang with saints, Bhagwan will take care of us.
