Truthfulness
Neelkanth Varni, during his van vicharan (pilgrimage) arrived in the village of Mangrol. Govardhanbhai had His darshan and felt deep warmth towards Varni. He asked Varni if he could get Him something to eat. Seeing his feelings Neelkanth Varni said, If you have something ready to eat then get it, as I won't be able to wait for you to prepare something. Govardhanbhai went home and got some fresh Sukhadi for Maharaj. Maharaj asked him, How did you make this so quickly?Govardhanbhai said it was ready as a result of some rites after his aunt passed away. Govardhanbhai mentioned to Varni that his aunt Putlibai was a disciple of Sadguru Ramanand Swami. Varni told him But do you know your aunt has gone to Yampuri (hell)? Govardhanbhai asked, How is that possible?
Nilkanth Varni put him in samadhi/trance and showed him the place in yumpuri where his aunt Putlibai was. Putlibai started asking for help from Govardhanbhai while in Samadhi. Yumdoots were beating Putlibai up and also started hitting Govardhanbhai.
Govardhanbhai came back to his mortal body and told Varni as it happened. Varni told Govardhanbhai to go back and to chant his name. He did so and when he took Varni's name the Yumdoot left Putlibai.
Govardhnbhai came back to the mortal body and asked Varni about the reason behind this. Nilkanth Varni told him that once Ramanand Swami had asked Putlibai to hold on to some gold for him and return it when he needed it later. When Ramanand Swami asked for the gold back, she told him that she did not have it. Ramanand Swami who knew the truth warned her of the consequences, but she maintained her innocence. As a result of that theft she went to hell.
Moral: We should not use anything belonging to others or to an organization or to our Guru for our personal needs.
